Four yardsticks for social evolution.

If you are what you eat, we are what we consume.

This world — this socio-economic system, this civilization, this global village — we created it. We make it and remake it, every day, every minute, using the lowest common denominator of consciousness: choice. Every choice, large or small, creates tomorrow. Today’s global society is a chaotic system, and our individual choices are the butterfly wings.

We make these choices using yardsticks. Cost, profit, love, empathy, status, reciprocity — the list is endless, both objective and subjective.

This blog is about four simple yardsticks for making choices that shift the social dynamics of our global society. Like heat in a thermodynamic system, choices are the heat in the socio-dynamic system. Our personal everyday choices create the heat that does the work. The work that moves us toward something more sustainable, more equitable. A civilization that learns to harness the energy of a planet, and heads for the stars.
